We had a fab weekend here. Facilities are brilliant, lovely and clean. Dotties Cafe 100% recommend lovely freshly cooked food. Friendly staff. Plently for the children to do. We even had a movie night and live entertainment. Only down side for us was when a boy dropped hiss trousers to his ankles and wee’d in a puddle that had gathered under the zip line where the children where playing and running through. Safe to say it put our children off the zip line for the rest of the weekend. Children that where unaware where running through the puddle bare foot. Think there needs to be more emphasis on parents supervising their children whilst on site.

Our Happy Place – Six Visits in Five Years! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was our sixth visit to Pillaton Hall Farm in five years. We first came when our boys were only six and seven, and they are now eleven and twelve. They still ask to return every year, which really says everything about how much we love it here. The whole site is clean, spacious and very well looked after. The facilities are excellent, with plenty of washing-up sinks and hot running water. The showers are immaculate and cleaned regularly, which makes such a difference when camping as a family. Occasionally, children leave toilet roll on the floor, but that is not the campsite’s fault. The cleaners are always quick to sort it out. Parents should take responsibility and encourage their children to respect the facilities and practise good toilet habits. There is so much safe, open space for children to enjoy. Our boys love the huge bouncing pillows, the different parks and play areas, the bike track, the fishing lakes and the brilliant activity lake. It gives them the freedom to have fun, explore and make friends while still feeling like a safe and well-run site. The fishing is another huge highlight for us. The lakes are peaceful and beautifully surrounded by reeds, wildlife and countryside views. Catching fish here has created some really special family memories. We also love staying on the back field behind Dottie’s. The views are beautiful and the sunsets are absolutely amazing. Sitting outside the tent at the end of the day and watching the sky change colour is one of our favourite parts of being here. The food from Dottie’s is lovely, generously portioned and always served with a smile. The staff across the site are friendly, helpful and work hard to keep everything running smoothly. There are rules, but we honestly see that as a good thing. They help keep such a large and popular site safe, clean, organised and enjoyable for everyone. We love that there is enough to keep children busy while still allowing them to enjoy nature instead of constantly relying on technology. Children may occasionally say they are bored, but that gives them the chance to discover how much fun the great outdoors can be. Bikes are a great thing to bring too, as the wide paths and open spaces give children plenty of room to explore. Pillaton Hall Farm genuinely makes us so happy as a family. It has become part of our boys’ childhood and has given us years of laughter, fishing, bike rides, adventures, beautiful sunsets and precious memories together. They ask to come back time and time again. In our experience, Pillaton Hall Farm does not deserve some of the negative reviews it receives. TripAdvisor can sometimes become an outlet for complaints, but it is also important to take the time to share positive experiences. We would recommend ignoring the overly negative reviews and experiencing this wonderful place for yourself. We believe the price is fair considering the size of the site, the range of activities and the clean facilities, including hot running water for washing up, which is not always available at other campsites. We already cannot wait for visit number seven. It truly is our family’s happy place and has created so many wonderful memories for our children. It is a site where you can pitch your tent, relax and enjoy being together. Even if it rains, there are still things to do. The great outdoors is a wonderful place. Keep it simple and give children that unique sense of freedom and adventure that can sometimes be lost in the modern world. One final thing: the little shop is a bit of a walk up the path, but it is an enjoyable stroll and part of the camping experience! We absolutely love it here and cannot wait to return. ❤️🏕️🎣🚲🌅

5 star ratingHighly recommend this site Would highly recommend this camping site, we arrived late in the evening and the onsite wardens Jo take us to our pitch very helpful and friendly. The large fishing lake on site had handful of carp my husband and son was catching all weekend. Shower block very smart modern and very clean very happy camping onsite. There's plenty of room in the washing area with big tv on wall whilst washing up your pots. Onsite staff very friendly happy. Dotties cafe well what can I say they have 2 screens to order food like maccies takeaway food was nice too. Cocktails was pricey £8 for a small plastic cup i got rum punch far to sweet. We really enjoyed the Glory days rock band had such a great time singing dancing. Shame this site closes too early in the year as we would of booked again in Oct half term. Will be booking again for next year.
